The Entrepreneur's Resume
Jeff Whalen, PhD
Jeff Whalen is a STEM Entrepreneur in Residence at Florida State University’s Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship. He completed his bachelor of science in biochemistry in 2005 and his doctorate in inorganic chemistry in 2009, both at Florida State University. After completing his postdoctoral studies at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in 2012, he accepted a position on the research faculty, where he worked until 2019. Jeff has started multiple companies over his 20-year entrepreneurial career and has had his projects funded by the State of Florida, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the U.S. Department of Defense. Jeff’s enthusiasm surrounding education and research influenced the creation of The Entrepreneur’s Resume.
Gabrielle Maury is a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW), Certified Digital Career Strategist (CDCS), and recently completed her Master’s in Hospitality Entrepreneurship at Florida State University. Gabrielle works for the Professional Association of Résumé Writers and Career Coaches (PARWCC) as a Membership Coordinator bringing both an entrepreneurial and member perspective to the internal team. She co-authored The Entrepreneur’s Resume with Jeff Whalen to better serve her clients and give them a roadmap to building relationships with the right people so that they can open doors to unforeseen opportunities.

Ilana Krause
Ilana Krause has been passionate about critical thinking and problem solving her entire life; from winning international recognition with the Future Problem Solving Program, publishing academic research on critical thinking, to developing the Recalculating for Entrepreneurs content with her Dad. As a result of her academic research, she co-authored “Engineering Student Beliefs About Problem Solving” in the Journal of Engineering Education. Ilana currently works at Procter and Gamble on upstream research and development, where she helps develop and bring the market innovative, new product ideas. Ilana is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering and a minor in Business Administration.
Lee Krause has 30 years of entrepreneurial experience focused on software technology and health care domains. He holds 19 patents covering hearing optimization, cybersecurity, and machine learning. Lee was the Founder and CEO of Securboration Inc., a high-end research firm focused on transitioning innovative technologies to the DoD and commercial world and now serves as chairman of the board of directors. Securboration Inc. has spun off two companies, Audigence Inc. and VFortifed. Mr. Krause serves as the chairman of the VFortified board as the product goes through its next evolution. Mr.Krause has always loved sharing advice to guide others and has a passion for leveraging critical thinking skills to gain repeatable results. That’s why he and Ilana wrote Recalculating for Entrepreneurs; to help people gain critical thinking skills to become better decision-makers.
